The First Fourth

We had such a wonderful weekend introducing Henry to his first Independence Day.

Follow along with our weekend.

First, we had to get dressed in our Patriotic best...

Then we headed to Ohio to a Fourth of July party with Brandon's brother and family...

Then we hung out at the party and enjoyed the PERFECT weather and the perfect company...

Before we headed across the street to watch Henry's first fireworks....

The next morning as Daddy went for a run, Henry and I practiced sitting up- which he did for just over a full minute...

After that, we headed out to visit Great Grandma Kay, and give her some big smiles and giggles...

Next, we had lunch with two of my closest girl friends who hadn't had the chance to meet him yet.  And we made sure to include one of our favorite girls who couldn't be there (see the picture on the phone Henry is holding)...

Up next, a stop to see Uncle Austin and take a dip for Henry's first swim (clearly he enjoyed it)...

And of course time spent showing Uncle Austin his favorite websites...

Then it was finally time for the 3.5 hour ride home and once we were finally home, some cuddle time with Dad on the patio...

We had such a busy weekend (as always) but through it all, Henry was SUCH a trooper.  He is essentially the definition of a good baby.  And as a side note, the Fourth of July is my favorite holiday, and fireworks are one of my favorite things in the world.  I never knew how it would feel to watch them with my son.  At one point as we were watching them explode above us, I looked down to see my son's hands in mine, and I looked to my right to see my husband smiling at us and I had never been so happy.  I shed a few tears because I was just bursting with happiness.  It's weekends like this that remind me of how truly lucky I am.

I hope your weekend was just as perfect...
