Henry-isms, Vol. 1
When Henry started really talking and developing an imagination, that's when I really began to enjoy parenthood. I love to listen to him talk (even if sometimes I wish for just a little peace and quiet), I love to listen to his stories and his imagination. And I find myself laughing more these days than I ever used to. Because I use this blog as a bit of a journal for our family, I wanted to take note of these things that he has said or done recently that had me smiling or laughing.
Anytime he is eating something and he wants us to try it he'll ask "You want some?" and when we say "No thank you" he'll stick the spoon in our face and say "It's nummmmmmy" in the sweetest sing song voice.
Recently after listening to B and I raise our voices to each other (something we'll be more cognizant of in the future), he yelled at B, "Don't you talk to Mommy like that! That's MY mommy!" And then he came over and hugged my leg.
While getting ready to go to the beach on our recent vacation.
H: *hugging me around my neck* "I won't let the ocean get you Mommy, I promise."
He likes to yell at invisible people and/or animals, telling them to get out of his room or to leave his mommy alone. One such incident in which he was yelling at a girl named Gracie (a daycare pal) about kicking Eston (his BEST daycare pal) I managed to capture on camera and you can see it on my Instagram page.
After we're done reading books to him before bedtime, we'll turn off the lights and sit down next to him.
H: "Pet me!" He loves us to play with his hair.
While at the grocery store, we passed by the flower section.
H: "I want to get you flowers, Mommy"
B: "We'll get Mommy flowers another day, buddy, I promise."
H: *full on tantrum* "I want to get Mommy floooooowerrrrrrrs!"
While watching a rain storm with B.
H: "You better run rain! I gonna get you!"
