Crabbin’ Crazy 2 ReviewWe still have the original game fresh in mind, mostly thanks to the charming action commentary from the fisherman. You get plenty of that in Crabbin’ Crazy 2 as well, and catching cash crabs is still the main attraction. You get 5 random features when the Pick A Bucket feature triggers, and you will also benefit from mystery symbols in the base game. The visual presentation has been upgraded a bit as well, but it wasn’t too shabby in the original either.

The free spins bonus round has been dropped in this sequel however, and the main feature is similar to the Let’s Go Crabbin’ hold and win round in the first game. It’s called Crabbin’ Bonanza Respins in this release though, but it still comes with collector and double up modifiers. The 2,000x potential is a bit higher as well, despite the volatility being dialed down several notches. We had good fun testing Crabbin’ Crazy 2, and this is a sequel that’s well worth a closer look.

You can turn on the Crabbin’ License ante bet between any base game spin, and it will cost you 25 % more per spin to keep it on. The benefit is a higher bonus round chance, as well as getting 4 respins in the Crabbin’ Bonanza feature instead of 3. Keeping the Ante Bet on also increases the RTP from 95.93 % to 96.01 %, so it’s definitely something to consider.

The premium symbols pay between 7.5 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and you can land a Wild symbol on any reel. The wild steps in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins, and wilds also pay 25 x your stake if you land 5 wilds on the same payline.

Mystery Crates serve as mystery symbols in this game, and all instances in view turn into the same randomly chosen pay symbol. A Taxi Crab can appear when you land a non-winning spin, and this can give you a big win or trigger a bonus feature.

The fisherman can trigger the Pick A Bucket feature at random times, and you then get to choose between 3 buckets on the screen. The bucket you pick will reveal one of the following features:

Mystery Crate - adds mystery symbols to random positions on the grid, and they transform into a matching symbol. Synced Reels - syncs at least 2 reels so they land matching symbols.

Catch of the Day - creates a winning spin, and the winning symbols become sticky for a respin. The process repeats as long as you keep improving your win.

Colossal Cash - adds a 3x3 sized symbol to the grid, and this symbol can be anything except crab symbols.

Crazy Crabbin’ - awards the Fisherman Collector on reel 1, and all crab symbols that land are collected as cash prizes. You cannot land the Super Crab or Uni Crab in this feature though.

The Crabbin’ Bonanza Respins feature triggers when you land 5+ crab symbols in view. You get 3 or 4 respins depending on whether or not you have the ante bet turned on, and the triggering crab symbols become sticky on an otherwise cleared grid.

The Fisherman can appear to collect and remove all crab symbols, and all cash prizes in view are summed up when you run out of respins. The Super Crab doubles all prizes in view, and it comes with a random value of 10x, 25x, or 50x your stake.

Review Summary

We liked the original Crabbin’ Crazy, and we had our hopes up for a better potential in this follow-up release. What we got instead was a less volatile installment where you can win up to 2,000x your stake. This is admittedly higher than in the first game, but not quite up there with the best in the fishing slot genre. Crabbin’ Crazy 2 is still well worth checking out though, and also keep in mind that until recently most fishing slots came with a somewhat low potential.

The fisherman action commentary is as charming as it was in the first game, and there are plenty of features to keep you entertained as well. The mystery symbols and pick a bucket features are enough to keep the base game interesting, and the Respins Bonanza feature triggers around every 200 spins on average. Overall, Crabbin’ Crazy 2 is a pretty solid release, but we have our fingers crossed for a higher potential in future installments.
